About
Antonia Fraser studied Art at Greenwich Adult Education College. She has painted in Scotland, Ireland and Cornwall, and abroad in Italy, Morocco and South Africa.
A painting trip to Morocco in 1997 with Ken Howard (RA, Pres. NEAC) refined her use of colour and strengthened her awareness of pattern. A journey to South Africa in 1998 developed her interest in form, light, and bright, bold, brilliant colours.
She held her first, very successful exhibition in London later that year and subsequently received commissions for more paintings. Since then, she has been selling oil paintings every year. She is a colourist in the Scottish tradition with the added use of free expressive brushwork to augment the effect of colour.
Recurring themes are still life and figurative paintings, landscapes, seascapes, and the natural world. Her paintings have sold in many exhibitions over the years and are owned by many art collectors in the UK and abroad. Antonia lives and works in Cornwall.
In 2021 Antonia’s painting ‘Summer’s Day’ was selected by The Financial Times and the Daily Mail when they covered Horatio’s Garden Summer Auction
